What sets us apart

Innovative Lighting for Optimal Algae Growth

Leveraging our unique Bioreactor illumination technology, we design and build plants that maintain low operational costs, even in challenging locations and conditions.

LIGHT CONCENTRATION
PANELS

Harnessing the power of sunlight, our proprietary Light Concentration Panels (LCPs) guide sunlight directly to the algae, significantly boosting growth rates beyond traditional systems. This not only reduces energy consumption and operating costs but also maximizes algae productivity.

But we don’t stop at sunlight. Our hybrid systems combine LCPs with our proprietary LED technology. This allows us to automatically switch between two different light sources based on the natural availability of sunshine, ensuring continuous light exposure for optimal algae growth and quality.

With Carniolus, we are illuminating the path to efficient and sustainable algae production.

  • Low & predictable operating costs

  • Delivers optimal light for algae growth even in locations with less sunlight

  • Fully automated

Frequently asked questions

We answered some of the most common questions.

Why is algae considered a promising solution for CO2 sequestration?2023-10-16T16:54:04+00:00

Algae naturally absorbs CO2 during photosynthesis at a much higher rate than terrestrial plants. This makes it an effective tool for capturing and converting significant amounts of CO2 into biomass, aiding in the fight against climate change.

Traditional methods, like afforestation or carbon capture and storage (CCS), have limitations in terms of scalability, land usage, and long-term storage. Algae-based sequestration is scalable, requires less land, and converts CO2 into valuable products like biofuels, making it both an environmental and economic solution.

What is the future potential of algae in combating climate change and supporting sustainable industries?2023-10-16T16:54:10+00:00

The versatility of algae positions it as a cornerstone for future sustainable industries. Beyond CO2 sequestration, algae can be processed into biofuels, animal feed, cosmetics, and even food supplements. As research advances, we anticipate algae playing a pivotal role in creating a green, circular economy.

What makes investing in algae production plants a standout business opportunity?2023-10-16T16:52:11+00:00

Investing in algae production plants offers a unique blend of environmental and economic benefits. As the demand for sustainable products grows, algae-derived products are gaining traction in various industries, from biofuels to pharmaceuticals. This positions algae production as a high-growth sector with substantial market potential.

Considering the initial investment, how does the profitability of algae production plants measure up?2023-10-16T16:51:57+00:00

Though the upfront cost for setting up an algae production plant can be significant, the potential revenue streams are diverse and substantial. From selling biomass for biofuels to high-value products like omega-3 supplements, the multiple revenue channels combined with the rapid ROI make it a compelling investment compared to other green ventures.

How does the ROI from algae production plants compare to other investments in the green sector?2023-10-16T16:52:04+00:00

While many green investments offer long-term returns, algae production plants stand out due to their relatively quick ROI. With the right conditions and market strategies, investors can expect returns in less than three years, making it one of the more lucrative opportunities in the sustainable sector.

Ponds have lower CAPEX. Why should I invest in your bioreactors?2023-10-16T16:52:18+00:00

While ponds may have a lower initial CAPEX, our bioreactors offer greater efficiency, consistency in production, and better control over environmental factors. This leads to higher yields, ZERO contamination risks, and ultimately, a more favorable return on investment in the long run.

Can your bioreactors be scaled up for larger production needs?2023-10-16T16:53:56+00:00

Absolutely! Our bioreactor systems are modular and scalable, allowing for easy expansion to meet growing production demands.
